From a young age, Jolaine has been passionate about health and wellness. It is this passion that eventually brought her to Vancouver to study at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in their 3000 hour program. After graduating in 2004, she has since worked in various types of clinics throughout North Vancouver and Vancouver Island, including multidisciplinary practices, spa clinics, personal training facilities, and most recently a home-based business.
Jolaine has experience in treating both specific injuries, such as ligament sprains, muscle strains and entrapped nerves, and chronic issues, such as headaches, anxiety, overuse injuries, postural dysfunctions, scar tissue limitations and breathing restrictions. She uses a combination of active and passive techniques during treatment, and has developed a passion for fascial release work during her time in practice. She is dedicated to identifying the root of discomfort and will work with each patient to ensure they have the tools to achieve maximum relief. Jolaine's postgraduate studies have included further training in fascial release techniques, as well as somatic and postural education, deep tissue therapy and more. She is forever working to broaden her education in the profession through self study, continuing education courses, and building a network of integrated professions in the community.
Jolaine emphasizes the importance of living healthy and being active and believes that therapy should not end when you get off the table. She utilizes an educational approach to helping patients and encourages a stretching and strengthening routine to accelerate recovery and increase self help skills and awareness. A balanced treatment approach, which may include integrating other modalities or practitioners when necessary to achieve her patients treatment goals, is an important part of Jolaine's practice. Jolaine takes a holistic approach with her work, ensuring her patients have options and receive the best possible care.
