One day prior to each treatment, patients will be required to complete the BC Covid-19 Self Assessment Survey with treatment rescheduled/denied if survey indicates an affirmative to any question. Patient will also be required to complete a Covid-19 Informed Consent In-take document prior to treatment (completed upon arrival).
All patients (exceptions are minors or persons requiring physical assistance) are to arrive unaccompanied. Patient should remain in their car until 5 minutes prior to scheduled treatment. Upon entering the clinic, patients will be asked to observe social distancing protocols of 2 meters distance and are welcomed to bring and wear their own mask.
Patients must commit to understanding that while we’ve taken all possible measures to minimize risk of viral transmission, the nature of massage therapy means that physical distancing is not possible in the treatment room.
As required under the BC Health Authority approved protocols, immediately upon arrival and at the time of departure, patients will be required to wash their hands (or sanitize if desired). Patients will also be expected to wash their hands after using the washroom (duh..) or handling cash. Patients will be encouraged to make contact-less payment through e-transfers, however cash with still be accepted.
Patients are also encouraged to bring and wear their own mask should they prefer. Patients will be requested to use a tissue when an itch must be addressed (tissues will be provided in all rooms), and do their best to avoid touching their face.
Disposable masks will be provided to all patients if needed. Due to short supply, patients are requested to bring their own mask and to observe proper hand washing protocols before and after placement and removal of the mask.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR RMT:
RMT will complete the same BC Covid-19 Self- Assessment Survey and notify/cancel any appointments should it be indicated. RMT will also screen each patient upon arrival to verify no visual symptoms of possible covid-19 are present and verbally reaffirm the pre-screening questions.

"The restoration of RMT services requires clear and thoughtful communication that is based on trust between an RMT and a patient. Trust, honesty, clear communication, listening with your head and your heart – plus well-informed explanations for your clinical choices, will help create an environment where patients can safely receive massage therapy because the risk of transmission of the virus that causes COVID-19 is minimized." - CMTBC
